This contest was different to the closed Nationals held in March 2002 because the closed contest was A.J.A. members only. The open Nationals is open to any association and to my knowledge there was 

· The Amateur Judo Association

· The British Judo Association

· The Buda Judo Federation

· The British Judo Council

· Plus one or two more associations

We entered 11 members into this contest and wow we took 8 trophies the standard again was outstanding and very hard everyone who entered really had to work to get anywhere in this contest.

We had a few injuries in this contest this is very unusual.I hope everyone is okay now.

The results for the Meiji Judokwai were as follows:

Gold = John Bromwich (adult)

Gold = Thomas Galway

Gold = Loren Ivory-Birtles

Silver = Nick Hill (adult)

Silver = John Bromwich (adult) open category

Silver = William Dewsbury

Bronze = Darren Hogg
